In the Kajamed medical supply store near the Zwickau train station, the idea of reduced standard working hours with the same wage has been around since it was founded.
And that was ten years ago.
After umpteen rounds of talks and a few tests, the 50 employees have had every other Friday off for a quarter of a year.
From the very beginning, the managing directors Kai and Jan Fiedler had the goal of delivering the best quality in the specialization in pediatric orthopedics, i.e. in the production of tailor-made orthoses.
However, the well-being of the employees is just as elementary for her.
“We have little to no fluctuation,” says David Pintscher.
The authorized signatory makes no secret of the fact that Corona gave the decisive impetus for the new working time model.
“Because of the contact restrictions, we worked in teams and noticed that we were still processing all orders.
The same result in less time,” said the 34-year-old.
For the company, which manufactures 750 children’s orthoses annually and generates a turnover of 4 million euros, this is expandable.
Working hours must fit life.
And the customers?
“So far no negative feedback.
We don’t have any walk-in customers anyway,” Pintscher emphasizes.
